A firm that already ranks well but has weak landing pages needs a different next step from a firm with no local visibility. A firm spending heavily on PPC may need better intake or conversion before it needs more traffic.
A useful sequence
- Define the practice areas and markets that matter.
- Check whether the website and intake path can convert those prospects.
- Fix technical/local blockers and strengthen the core service pages.
- Use content and authority to expand qualified visibility.
- Add paid search where the economics and intake capacity make sense.
- Measure qualified inquiries and retained matters where attribution is reliable.
Search & AI visibility in 2026
Google's current guidance says its normal SEO fundamentals still apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode; OpenAI says ChatGPT Search inclusion depends in part on allowing OAI-SearchBot; Bing says core SEO also supports Copilot/grounding visibility; and AhrefsBot follows robots.txt. Those crawl/index actions belong in the final launch checklist.
Using the Resource Center
Are these resources legal advice?
No. The resources are about law firm marketing, SEO, search visibility, websites, content, advertising, and conversion. Any legal examples or jurisdiction-specific marketing rules should be reviewed with qualified counsel.
How often are the guides updated?
Pages should be reviewed when search platforms, marketing tools, law firm services, or legal/advertising requirements change. Time-sensitive pages include an update date or a note where verification matters.
Do you write for Google and AI search differently?
The fundamentals overlap. We favor useful, original, crawlable text; clear headings; direct answers; internal links; accurate structured data; current information; and real experience. There is no guaranteed formula for a citation or ranking.
Can I use these guides to plan my own marketing?
Yes. They are designed to explain the decision framework and tradeoffs. A firm's best sequence still depends on practice area, market competition, website condition, authority, budget, and intake capacity.
Still Not Sure Which Channel Is the Bottleneck?
Bring the website, priority practice areas, markets, and current marketing mix to the first conversation. We can help separate urgent fixes from work that can wait.
