Google AI + Bing + ChatGPT Search

AI Search & GEO for Law Firms Without the Hype

There is no secret file or magic schema that guarantees a law firm will be cited by an AI answer. The practical work is familiar: make the site crawlable, useful, specific, current, easy to understand, well connected internally, and supported by credible information across the web.

Where Campaigns Break

The Problems We Want to Fix First

More activity is not the same as a stronger acquisition system. We start with the friction that is already costing the firm visibility, trust, or qualified inquiries.

×

The firm chases “GEO hacks” instead of fundamentals

Special files and markup are added while core service pages remain weak, unclear, or difficult to crawl.

×

The brand/entity is inconsistent

Attorney names, locations, practice areas, bios, business profiles, directories, and website information do not agree.

×

Content is hard to extract and trust

Long pages avoid direct answers, legal context is vague, authorship is unclear, and important facts only exist inside images or scripts.

What You Get

AI Search / GEO for Law Firms Deliverables

The exact scope depends on the firm's market and starting point, but the work should always be specific enough that you can see what is being done and why.

AI/search crawl readiness

At launch, review crawl access, indexability, server/CDN blocks, internal links, canonical signals, and whether important content is available as text.

Answer-ready content structure

Key questions receive direct answers followed by useful explanation, limitations, local context, and links to deeper service information.

Entity & trust clarity

Organization, attorney, office, practice-area, and contact information are aligned across the site and relevant external profiles.

Structured data alignment

Schema is used where appropriate and kept consistent with what a visitor can actually see on the page.

Citation-worthy source content

Original explanations, experience-based insights, process information, case studies when verified, and useful resources give other systems something worth referencing.

Freshness & discovery workflow

Important changes are reflected in content and, after launch, search-discovery tools such as sitemaps/IndexNow are handled at the site level.

How We Work

A Simple Process With Clear Priorities

01

Make the site understandable

Fix crawl/index blockers, page hierarchy, entity consistency, textual content, headings, and internal links.

02

Improve source quality

Upgrade service pages and resources with direct answers, useful examples, real experience, dates, reviewers, and clear context.

03

Strengthen corroboration

Align business profiles, attorney information, legal directories, relevant mentions, and authority signals.

04

Monitor discovery

Use search-console/webmaster data, referral analytics, bot/crawl logs when available, and content updates to see what systems are discovering.

Execution & Proof

Our GEO rule: do not invent a new SEO religion

Google's current guidance says the same core SEO best practices remain relevant for its AI features and that no special AI markup is required. OpenAI says inclusion in ChatGPT Search depends in part on allowing OAI-SearchBot access. Bing's current webmaster guidance also connects traditional SEO fundamentals with AI/grounding visibility. We build around those realities instead of selling guaranteed AI citations.

Measurement

What We Measure Instead of Vanity Activity

Not every metric is available in every law firm's systems, so reporting should distinguish observable search signals from reliable business attribution.

What we watchWhy it matters
Search/AI referral trafficVisits attributed to search engines and identifiable AI/search referral sources when analytics exposes them.
Indexed priority pagesWhether important service/resource pages are discoverable and eligible for search snippets after launch.
Brand/entity consistencyAccuracy of organization, attorney, location, service, and profile information across key sources.
Citation/mention evidenceObservable references, links, brand mentions, and AI-search citations where they can be tracked.
Content freshnessPriority pages reviewed and updated when services, facts, laws, or platform requirements change.
Modern Discovery

Built for Search Engines, AI Search, and Real People

We do not write or design pages to “look AI optimized.” We use clear text, strong information architecture, useful answers, internal links, consistent entity information, responsive layouts, and technical crawlability—the same fundamentals that support discovery across modern search systems.

Discovery-ready foundation

At launch, the site-level checklist covers crawl/index controls, sitemaps, internal links, canonical consistency, search-engine webmaster tools, and crawler access. While the site is intentionally noindex, those launch actions stay parked.

FAQ

Questions Law Firms Ask About AI Search / GEO for Law Firms

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT or Google AI will cite my law firm?

No. These systems choose sources using their own changing ranking and retrieval methods. We can improve crawlability, content quality, entity clarity, corroboration, and discovery, but no agency controls the final citation.

Do we need an llms.txt file to rank in Google AI features?

Google's current Search Central guidance says no new machine-readable AI file or special schema is required for AI Overviews or AI Mode. Core SEO, crawlability, useful content, internal links, page experience, and accurate structured data remain the foundation.

How can a site be available to ChatGPT Search?

OpenAI's current guidance says OAI-SearchBot should be allowed to crawl the site and hosting/CDN layers should allow OpenAI's published crawler traffic. We handle that as part of the launch-level technical checklist, not while a site intentionally remains noindex.

Does Bing SEO also matter for AI search?

Yes. Bing's webmaster guidelines state that the same core crawling, indexing, ranking, and content-clarity foundations support Bing search and its AI/grounding experiences.
